Miniature Review

Where Shadows Bloom is a captivating sapphic romantasy that completely swept me off my feet. The world is enchanting, the characters are lovable, and the romance is so tender. Ofelia and her knight, Lope, venture through a mysterious court ruled by a king with dangerous secrets the only safe place from terrifying shadow monsters. Ofelia’s mom is missing in this strange world, and their search to find her gives the story a sense of urgency that kept me hooked.

I loved the dual POV and getting to see inside both Ofelia and Lope’s heads made their relationship even more immersive. Lope, especially, won me over with their mix of warrior strength and poetic soul.

The world-building is beautifully atmospheric, and the slow reveal of the story’s mysteries kept me on my toes. While I wanted a little more details about the gods and religious aspects, the mystery added to the charm rather than taking away from it.

At its heart, Where Shadows Bloom is all about love pure, tender, and affirming. If you're looking for a cosy yet thrilling escape with a romance that’ll warm your heart, this book is an absolute must-read! Little sidenote I loved this book and Flowerheart is now on my TBR.
