My Favourite Book Quotes

Hello Readers,
Some books stay with you long after you’ve finished reading them. Today, I thought I’d share some of my favourite book quotes with you. Whether they’re funny one-liners, thought-provoking insights, or lines that hit you right in the feels, these little gems have a way of sticking around.

Red Dwarf Infinity Welcomes Careful Drivers by Grant Naylor

I’ll admit, this quote might seem a little odd out of context. But whether I’m rewatching the TV series or listening to the audiobook, this little moment never fails to make me laugh. Honestly, I’m not sure if the line would have stuck with me as much if I had read the book before seeing the series, but either way, it’s become one of my favourites.

Every Exquisite Thing by Laura Steven

This line has stayed with me ever since I read Every Exquisite Thing. I even have it written on a post-it note by my desk as a daily reminder. It’s such a beautiful quote from an equally beautiful book, and it really resonates with me. It’s honest and relatable, capturing the pressures and expectations we can face but in a way that feels empowering and uplifting.

Such Sharpe Teeth by Rachel Harrison

This is my favourite quote from a werewolf book. In context, Rory has just been attacked by the wolf that transforms her and is lying there thinking, “Great, this is how I die—in a perfectly dramatic moonlit spotlight.” It might say something questionable about my own sanity, but I can’t help imagining myself in the exact same position, and honestly, it makes me laugh every time.

When Women Were Dragons by Kelly Barnhill

I love this quote because it recognises how unpredictable life can be, but it frames that uncertainty in a way that feels both hopeful and grounding. It’s something I turn to when my anxiety about my allergy disorder flares up. The quote has helped shift my focus from trying to control everything to embracing whatever comes my way.

Stone Blind by Natalie Haynes

This is another line that had me snort-laughing the first time I heard it. It’s one of those sharp, witty comebacks that Natalie is good at delivering, and I absolutely love it. Her writing always has this perfect mix of humour that catches me off guard, making you laugh out loud even in the most unexpected moments. This line is just so spot-on and brilliantly timed.
