Cruel Winter with You by Ali Hazelwood Review

Hello Readers,
While searching for Christmas reads this year, I came across the "Under the Mistletoe Collection." This Amazon Original collection features five festive novellas by Ali Hazelwood, Tessa Bailey, Olivia Dade, Alexandria Bellefleur, and Alexis Daria.

Each novella is available on Kindle Unlimited, and if you have an Audible account, you can also access the audiobook version while the book is borrowed through Kindle Unlimited. Today I am sharing my review of the first book in the "Under the Mistletoe Collection.” I will not be discussing the spice levels as that’s all down to personal preference.

Synopsis:
All newly minted paediatrician Jamie Malek wants is to borrow a roasting pan for Christmas dinner. Unfortunately, that requires her to interact with Marc her best friend’s troublemaking brother, who’s now a tech billionaire. He’s the one who got away. She’s the one who broke his heart. Outside, a howling blizzard. Inside, a crackling fire. Suddenly, being snowbound with the man she never expected to see again might not be such a bad way to spend a winter’s night.

Miniature Review
This was a delightful Christmas read that left me craving more. I would have gladly devoured an entire book centred on these characters. That said, don't take this as a critique of its length; in just 73 pages, Ali masterfully crafted a fully developed characters and a compelling story with her exceptional writing. It captured the signature Hazelwood charm while still feeling fresh and unique.

The book was incredibly heartwarming and wholesome. The romance was brimming with humour, love, and tender moments that made it truly delightful to read. I adored Jamie as the main character; her internal thoughts and struggles felt all too relatable at times.

This was a lovely festive read with a sweet ending. It was thoroughly enjoyable. Tomorrow, I'll be sharing my review of Under the Mistletoe Two: Merry Ever After by Tessa Bailey.
