Spooky Season Rewatches

Happy Halloween Readers,
What better way to set the mood for the spooky season than sitting down all wrapped up while watching spooky movies. This year I thought I would share some movies I love to rewatch during the spooky season.
 
I am using poster images I have found through google I do not own any rights and am using the image purely for future review purposes (Fair use under the copyright act sections 29 and 30 under use for a review).
 
The Cabin in the Woods (2011)


Synopsis: Five teenagers head off for a weekend at a secluded cabin in the woods. They arrive to find they are quite isolated with no means of communicating with the outside world. When the cellar door flings itself open, they of course go down to investigate. They find an odd assortment of relics and curios, but when one of the women, Dana, reads from a book, she awakens a family of deadly zombie killers. However, there's far more going on than meets the eye. Their fate is unknowingly controlled by technicians as part of a world-wide conspiracy where all horror movie clichés are revealed to be part of an elaborate sacrifice ritual.

30 days of Night (2007)


Synopsis: When their annual month-long polar night arrives around the corner, the town of Barrow, Alaska seems like all will be alright during that time, but all is far from alright. After strange things start to happen around the town, the town's Sheriff Oleson will soon discover the real horrifying truth to what's been going on: the town has been targeted by a clan of hungry, bloodthirsty vampires. After most of the town's people are killed off, the rest of population goes into hiding. With no way to call or get help from the outside world, it is up to the town's survivors to find a way to make through the month of darkness if they hope to survive.

Shaun of the Dead (2004)


Synopsis: Shaun is a 30-something loser with a dull, easy existence. When he's not working at the electronics store, he lives with his slovenly best friend, Ed, in a small flat on the outskirts of London. The only unpredictable element in his life is his girlfriend, Liz, who wishes desperately for Shaun to grow up and be a man. When the town is inexplicably overrun with zombies, Shaun must rise to the occasion and protect both Liz and his mother.

Final Destination (2000)


Synopsis:
Alex Browning is embarking on a trip to Paris. Alex experiences a premonition where he sees the plane explode moments after leaving the ground. Alex insists that everyone get off the plane and 7 people including Alex, are forced to disembark. All watch as the plane explodes in a fireball. He and the other survivors have briefly cheated death but will not be able to evade their fate for very long. One by one, these fugitives from fate fall victim to the grim reaper.

Halloweentown (1998)


Synopsis: Marnie and her siblings get a big shock when they follow grandma home to Halloweentown - and find out they come from a family of witches. The town is the only place where supernatural beings can lead a `normal' life, but trouble is looming, and on her 13th birthday Marnie not only finds she is a witch, but that she and her family are involved in a fight against the evil that is threatening to take over the world.

  1. I had LOVED cabin in the woods.. and then I rewatched it with my dad the other day- and boy do I gind it cringe. All that hornyness- nope 🫣

    Another favorite was Jennifer’s body! Haven’t went back on that one yet ahah
