Payback's a Witch by Lana Harper Review

Happy Halloween Readers,
This was such a cute little witchy book to read and was perfect for October. Slight spice warning, I will not be discussing the spice levels as that’s all down to personal preference.

I saw someone on Goodreads compare this book to “John Tucker Must Die but with magic.” and it’s a perfect sales pitch. I am sorry to admit it dear Reader, but I love a good fictional revenge plot.

I loved this book I can't pinpoint why, but this had everything I could have wanted and needed for a cute witchy read. This was just the perfect book from me when I sat down to read it, I know that sounds odd, but I am a believer in right book right time and right book wrong time.

From the beginning I was obsessed with the founding families and systems of magic in place. The writing was great, I adored the descriptions of Thistle Grove, and I wish I could visit. I loved the story line, I loved the characters, I loved the friendship, and I loved the revenge aspect of it.

I enjoyed the slow-burn romance between Emmy and Talia as Lana made the romance feel real and authentic as the two characters had great chemistry it was so easy to watch them fall for each other. I finished this book  in one sitting as it was just a fun easy read with a cute ending. Book two “From Bad to Cursed” is on my TBR.

Stay Spooky
