Interview with the Vampire Series Two Review

Hello Readers,

While recovering from my last reaction I thought I would rewatch season one of Interview with the Vampire before jumping into season two. Spoilers ahead not only for the tv series but for the books as I will be discussing key plot points but at the same time the first four books are older than me and I was one when the film came out. I have no copyrights to the poster image below (Fair use under the copyright act sections 29 and 30 under use for a review).

First spoiler sorry but I loved how they announced that the role of Claudia will now be played by Delainey Hayles as it really fitted into the later theming of the series. While I’m on the subject of Claudia … I read the book I knew her fate, but you could have given her more than 10 minutes of happiness that was cruel beyond cruel and unkind. Am I mad because I cried my eye out possibly but my poor little black heart the series ending hurt.

I love how in this season in modern day Dubai, Louis and Armand present themselves to Daniel as their happily ever after as they bring up the past. Armand’s development in season two as he takes centre stage is magnificent to witness.

Jacob Anderson as Louis de Pointe du Lac is once again believable as he is compelling and flawless with, his portrayal. I just need to give a shout out to Ben Daniels as I LOVED his portrayal as Santiago as he owns the role wholeheartedly and left no crumbs. Quoting drag race he served C.U.N.T (Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve, and Talent). Santiago thought he was this big and powerful, but he’s just an egotistical performer.

Sam Reid’s haunting presence as Lestat de Lioncourt is felt through out this season and I loved every second of it. I know Lestat from the books and in my opinion, Sam is the closest to who I pictured, sorry Tom Cruise and Stuart Townsend. I am a Lestat groupie, and I can’t wait to follow him when the narration flips.

Without a huge spoiler the villain of this series isn’t who you think it is… and I can’t wait for season three. Of course I had to include the sneak peek at rockstar Lestat.
