The brain fog has finally lifted I can finally address this just a quick heads up this is going to be a heavy post if you are not in the right head space, please skip this post. I’m going to be talking about abortions, death, and rape.
All the way back in 2019 I wrote about the heartbeat bill and now some states are saying hold my beer like seriously we are in 2022 this is not the start of The Handmaids Tale. This post isn’t about whether abortion is right or wrong it is about the right to choose. In fact I personally, do not care if you have had an abortion, in fact it is none of my business to be completely honest.
From research I have done there is very little flexibility with theses laws that that they are trying to put in place including nothing stated about fetal abnormality. Despite 1 in every 33 babies born in the United States being born with a birth defect that can vary from mild to severe. Depending on the severity of the defect and what body part is affected, the expected lifespan of a person may be affected. What extra care are you going to put into place to support the parents of these children born with birth defects?
Some fetal abnormalities can be discovered early during ultrasound and in some case, abortion is considered the safer option for both mother and child. Some abnormalities have the possibility to cause a new-born to asphyxiate during birth and cause permanent damage to their brain, heart, lungs, kidneys, bowels, or other organs. What is going to be the quality of life for this child? Again, what extra care are you going to put into place to support the parents of these children? Are you going to give the families financial aid to help support the cost of having a poorly child?
You also have the possibly of fetal abnormalities where the baby will not survive the birth but won’t die in the womb. How dare you make a woman bond with a child that will not survive more than minutes outside of her womb. You have forced that woman to carry that baby to full term feel every little kick. How can you not expect her to bond with that? How can you mentally prepare anyone for that? What about the compilations where the woman’s life will be at risk during birth, does the doctor chose to let you both die or save the child who has a law protecting it?
Arizona’s governor recently signed a 15-week abortion ban without rape or incest exceptions, although it is not yet in effect. Once this comes into effect can someone, please ask Arizona’s governor (and any others who are trying to enforce this) are you going to putting in place the correct mental health teams to assist the women you are forcing to be mothers? Or as I suspect you are going to be inhumanly cruel and leave these women not only having to come to terms with the horrific mental and physical side effects of being raped but the real possibility of forcing them to raise a child that is a daily reminder of what they went through. I know it’s hard but really think would you want your sister, daughter, cousin any female relative to go through this. FOR THE PEOPLE AT THE BACK making a woman live with the consequence of being raped is beyond inhumane.
Let’s do things your way for a second think of this child you are wanting to protect so this mother who doesn’t want this child now has two options. Let us start with adoption seeing how open your hearts are to take in these children oh wait. From figures I can see from 2020 because it’s one of the only reliable sources I can find 43,694 babies were put into care in 2020 while only 8,965 babies where adopted. Let that sink in that’s 34,729 babies left in the system what about their rights you fought so hard for? You waged war for them to be born why are you not looking after them now? Just going to put his here if this was really about life why are you not protecting the children in school shootings up to April there have been 26 school shootings. 46 people have died where is your outrage from that? This isn’t really about the lives of babies and children is it, could it be that people are right and this is really about controlling women’s bodies?
The second option is that the mother keeps the child and is cruel to it possibly through no fault of her own and could possibly have PTSD from the attack as it is a constant reminder of what she was forced to go through. A lot of women throughout history have shown they are not great mothers forcing someone to be one without their consent cannot end well. How many babies and young children slip through child protective series each year. The CWLA have published reports confirming my worst fears that show children in their first year of life have the highest rate of victimization at 26.7 per 1,000 children of the same age in the national population. Once again, I would like to remind you, you waged war for them to be born why are you not looking after them now?
Are you going to make exceptions for minor rape victims who have the possibility of getting pregnant, this is a child you are claiming to protect where is your argument here? Minors don’t have periods (insert resting bitch face eye roll) sorry to tell you but the average age for girls to get their period in the states is 12 years old. Here’s some scientific statistics to back up my point ten percent of all US girls are menstruating by 11 year of age and 90% are menstruating by 13 years of age. According to recent figures in the us alone girls ages 16-19 are four times more likely than the general population to be victims of rape or sexual assault. You are considered a minor in the states till you are 18 let that sink in.
Preventing women and girls from accessing abortions does not mean they stop needing one. It only forces people to seek out unsafe abortions. How many women have already died unnecessarily throughout history thanks to either knitting needle or coat hanger abortions, desperate women who had no other options? More women will be added to this unnecessary statistic we have safe abortions there is no need for them to die. What about the women who are going to that desperate they buy abortion pills online with no idea what is inside them? “She wouldn’t do that” people have died from taking diet pills they found online from a reliable source there are countless stories of people being ‘burned up from the inside’ after taking tablets believed to contain highly toxic chemical dinitrophenol in tablets that were marketed as safe, rigorously tested and doctor backed. Once more for the people at the back This isn’t really about the lives of babies and children is it, is this about controlling women’s bodies?
Since I wrote this post the supreme court has overturned Roe vs Wade. These children you are so set on protecting are we going to see tougher gun laws due to the amount of school shootings that have happened this year or am I right? This was really about the right to control a woman's body!
